Browse funds by what they hold

Every fund with a price is placed in one plain-English category, so like can be compared with like.

Shares by region

Funds that own companies, grouped by where those companies are.

Themes and sectors

Funds that focus on one idea or industry rather than a whole market.

Bonds and cash-like

Loans to governments and companies, and funds that behave like cash.

Other building blocks

Ready-made mixes, property, commodities, trusts and higher-risk products.

Numbers are funds with a price in each category.

How much do two funds overlap?

Holding two funds is not always holding twice as many companies. The share of money in the same holdings, from each fund’s published list.

Overlap adds up, holding by holding, the smaller of the two funds’ weights. It is shown only when both funds publish enough of their holdings to measure it. Method

ISAs, pensions and money, explained

How much you can put in, what you pay tax on and when you can take it out, in plain English, with the official source under every figure.

How every figure is worked out

Each number comes from a named source and a written rule. If a figure does not match its rule, that is our mistake to correct.

Returns after inflation

Every return is shown twice: as reported, and after UK CPIH inflation, so a gain is measured in what it buys.

How real return is worked out

Charges in pounds

An ongoing charge of 0.19% is about £19 a year on £10,000. We show the pounds as well as the percentage.

How fee drag is worked out

What funds share

Two funds can hold many of the same companies. Overlap is measured from each fund’s published holdings.
